Shepherd's Rest Cottage

A detached cottage set 1000 feet above sea level near Ludlow in the South Shropshire Hills

An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

This is a traditional 3 bedroom detached cottage sleeping up to 6 people in two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Set on the edge of open heath land, there are many walks across the hills starting from the garden gate, with two wood burning stoves, exposed beams, BT fibre wi-fi and DVD/Blu-Ray player with over 100 films for family viewing. The small but secluded garden includes a raised lawn and flowerbeds. Electric central heating keeps the cottage warm in the coldest winters. No extra charges.

Open all year, the cottage is positioned in a quiet lane in its own grounds near open heathland from which there are magnificent views. It is ideal for country lovers and walkers, with a diversity of wildlife & scenic walks from the doorstep, either an easy stroll or more strenuous hike. Just come and relax in the beautiful surroundings. It is ideal for a memorable, enjoyable or romantic break or that well deserved holiday. The detached stone and brick cottage was originally built in about 1850 and there are steep stairs to the bedrooms. While original parts of the cottage are stone, much is brick built leaving curious shelves and ledges inside. Well marked footpaths start at the gate and take many routes in all directions across hills, countryside and forest. The famous Shropshire Way passes nearby. Ludlow, which is famous for its fine food shops, market, restaurants, picturesque castle and Elizabethan style black and white buildings, hosts the internationally renowned Ludlow Food Fair each September.

Please note. All electricity, wi-fi, towels, smokeless fuel, seasoned logs and bed linen is included in the rental. We cannot accept animals & this is strictly a non-smoking cottage. There is private parking (for 2 cars only) and a downstairs bathroom. Steep stairs may be unsuitable for elderly or infirm visitors.
