Situated in an excellent location with wonderful views and providing the opportunity to relax in peaceful, tranquil surroundings, Quinceborough Farm Cottages is the perfect spot for a beach or touring holiday.
Stroll over the fields in the evening, and marvell at the fabulous sunsets, or enjoy the peace and quiet of our woodland walk. A barbecue is provided for the adventurous, also a bird hide. You may be lucky enough to see the deer, if you are very quiet.
A tue Cornish welcome awaits you from the resident owners, Pat and Guy.
Guy's father bought the farm in 1920 and Guy was actually born here!
The existing farm buildings were built by Squire Mucklow around 1880.
They illustrate the quality of the craftsmanship at that time.
In 1980, a redundant hay barn was converted into a terrace of three cottages. These retain many of the features of the original barn.
In one, it is possible to see, on one of the beams, where our children had a rope swing!!
The cottages are prettily and well furnished to a high standard.
There is a lounge upstairs with a lovely view over the field and down to the sea. In this room is also a double bed which goes up against the wall, behind a curtain when not in use. A fully - fitted modern kitchen opens off this room with electric hob and oven, a fridge/freezer, micrwave and dishwasher, etc. Downstairs is the bathroom with bath, shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail.
Also two bedrooms, the main room has a double bed and a single and the other room has pine 3' bunk beds.
Electricity is by £1 coin meter. But, the two storage heaters are included in the cost when they are needed.
In 2007, we finished convering two very different barns. One had been the roost for the chickens and ducks and the other had been a calf pen.
These have made two superb cottages, one with two bedrooms and a double bed settee and the other with three bedrooms.
Electricity, underfloor heating are included, when it is needed.
They have been converted to a very high standard.
Also available are three properties at the Bay, all within 300 yards of the sea.
Quinceborough Farm is a excellent base from which to explore Cornwall and Devon. The world renownded Eden Project is one hour's travelling away as are the coves and harbours of the South Coast.
Nearer home, Bude is a lovely little town with lots to offer visitors all year round.
Boscastle, Tintage, Port Isaac, and Clovelly are just minutes away. For the walker, the Coastal Path and the nearby Bodmin Moor provide endless opportunities.
Another option is to stay at the farm and enjoy the facilities here, or just relax and enjoy the atmoshere. We feed the animals around the farm at 9.30am. each morning excepting Saturday. At the moment we have a pet pig, "sprout", a pet lamb "Choc- Choc" ducks, chickens, geese, a guinea fowl etc. etc. This seems to be enjoyed by young and old and, not least, by Pat!.
All in all, we feel that we can offer you everything for a really good holiday. But, we do have no control over the weather!!!
