Anchorage House is a large Victorian Villa centrally located in the picturesque west highland village of Tighnabruaich, with breathtaking views of the Kyles of Bute. This is an ideal place to relax and unwind, whilst enjoying the scenery and partaking in the many activities the area has to offer.

The upper part of Anchorage House has been meticulously prepared to ensure that you experience exceptionally high quality accommodation to match the stunning surroundings.

The original Victorian features have been retained and has been fitted out using many period items of high quality antique furniture to obtain a delightful feel. This is complimented by the fitting of all the usual modern appliances that one would expect from this standard of holiday accommodation.

Anchorage House has a total of five bedrooms set out as follows:
The master bedroom is one of the three amply sized double rooms; it has en-suite facilities that include toilet, sink and shower.

Bedroom two is the second double room, with its own fireplace.

Bedroom three is a stunning double with a four poster bed and wash hand basin.

Bedroom four is a single, gentleman's room.

Bedroom five is a single, ladies room with outstanding views.

We also have a cot available (this should be requested in advance of your arrival).

The bathroom is spacious and equipped with bath and shower.

The large, fully fitted kitchen and dining room is well equipped with all the usual facilities including microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc.
It has a large dining table, comfortably seating eight, which allows you to enjoy the stunning views as you eat.

The large lounge is similarly well fitted including fireplace, wide screen TV and DVD player, its large bay window is an ideal place to sit and just watch the world go slowly by.

Guests have the use of a beautiful, mature, large garden with outdoor seating and barbeque facilities. The garden area is ideal for children to run about, play football and other games.
We aim to be child and pet friendly.

Car parking is provided for up to three cars and there is plenty room if you wish to bring a trailer with a sailing dinghy.

Directions
Tighnabruaich is under two hours drive from Glasgow via the A82 / A83 Loch Lomond / "Rest and be thankfull" route. This takes you via A815 towards Strachur from the A83, just before Cairndow. At Strachur turn onto the A886, then the A8003 at Glendaruel.
Alternatively, use the ferry crossing at Gourock on the Clyde coast, giving direct access to Cowal at Dunoon, a 40 minute drive from Tighnabruaich. For this route stay on the M8 westbound to Greenock and continue on to the ferries at Gourock.
Whichever option you choose, the last 15 minutes are spectacular as you enter Tighnabruaich, it is worth stopping to enjoy the unparalled views of the Kyles of Bute before you descend into Tighnabruaich.
There are regular flights to Glasgow from all over the UK from here you car hire a car that will allow you to explore Tighnabruaich and its surroundings.
Glasgow Airport is next to the M8 making your journey very straight forward.
