The Old Stables

Isle of Mull
Scottish Tourist Board:   3 star
Cottage's own web site
The surroundings of the Old Stables are peaceful, there is the quiet beach, offering the chance to catch a glimpse of the Sea Eagle, or maybe an otter, plus numerous other sea birds and of course in the glen there are sheep, Red deer and Highland cows.

The situation is very convenient, for example if you do not feel like cooking, there is the Glenforsa Hotel nearby which offers a choice of meals, or just five minutes along the road is the village of Salen which has a very good family friendly Italian restaurant.

The Old Stables has been thoughtfully laid out to accommodate four people, although there is the added flexibility of a sofa bed in the living room to enable six people to stay if required.

The owners have travelled extensively and are very experienced in what self catering accommodation can really be like. Their ethos of keeping it simple, homely and comfortable has been used throughout to ensure that your stay here is exactly what you would want.

Simple - for example pricing - there are no hidden extras like linen hire, or if you want to bring your dog.

Homely - there is a selection of relevant guidebooks, maps, plus we supply, as standard, those things that you may have difficulty bringing like a highchair, and everything works!

Comfortable - all the furnishings have been selected to ensure they are comfortable, plus the layout of the cottage has been thought about, so there is a full sized bath, a convenient fire, plus the kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside there is a good sized garden where there is a barbecue and outside seating, again all that you would expect from a home-from-home.
