Whithorn Cottage is located in the heart of historic Whithorn, 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and 3 miles north of the Isle of Whithorn. It is within walking distance of the archaeological site of Whithorn Priory, as well as shops, pubs and post office.
Whithorn lies within easy reach of a number of sandy beaches. The beautiful Machars of Galloway are great for walking, bird-watching, cycling, fishing and golf. It is an area rich in history and natural beauty, and famous for its connection with the cult film "The Wickerman".
The cottage has two bedrooms, one double and the other twin. There are storage heaters downstairs and electric wall heaters upstairs, and the lounge has a wood burning stove for extra warmth. The recently refurbished bathroom has an electric shower over the bath, and the kitchen is fully fitted with microwave, electric oven and hob, toaster, kettle, fridge-freezer and washing machine.
For a rainy day there is TV with Freeview channels and DVD/VCR, a radio/cassette player, and a varied selection of books and films. At the rear of the cottage is a pleasant sun lounge, with access to a large garden laid out in the traditional Scottish 'toon' pattern, and backing on to open fields.
Bed linen will be provided, and also an initial supply of coal and logs for the stove. There are no additional charges for the electric heating. A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
