The Grandtully

By Aberfeldy
Cottage's own web site
The Grandtully; formally The Grandtully Hotel.

The property is undergoing a re-vamp throughout the year, but is operating effectively around the bookings.
Upgrading is going on throughout the year and we will minimise the disturbance by only working on improvements throughout the week (Monday to Friday).

The Grandtully is perfectly situated about 40 metres from The River Tay, which makes this the ideal base for all of your water based activities using either Splash or Freespirits. The site also has its own dedicated cafe / bar "The Tully Cafe / Bar" as well as The Inn on The Tay pub / restaurant just across the road.

We have 10 rooms, of which 5 are en-suite, there are two family rooms with a double bed and a set of bunks, the other 8 have 2 single beds, so we can now sleep upto 24. There is also a drying room facility for residents.

Splash or Freespirits; they can provide all your needs for an activity filled adventure break, be it just for a weekend of rafting and canyoning or a tailor made 5-Day total adventure package during July / August.

Stag and Hen Weekends; adventure and adrenaline packed weekends of activities, have a look at the Activity providers on our website to see the amazing selection of full on activities for your whole group.

Canoeists / Kayakers; Ideally based just 40 meters from the rapids / slalom course at Grandtully, why look anywhere else?

Walkers / Munroe Baggers; We are close to Ben Lawers, Schiehallion, Farragon and around 30 other Munroes within sensible travelling distances. There are plenty of local walks for all standards and abilities, these include The Birks O Aberfeldy, The Hermitage, Drummond Hill.

Golfers; Come and play a different course everyday of the week, heres what you could play; Kenmore, Pitlochry, Dunkeld + Birmam, St.Andrews, Crieff, Carnoustie and Gleneagles to mention a few of the 30 or so great courses within sensible travelling distances / times.

Large groups / Parties; Plenty of space to entertain or chill-out away from the kids and full catering can also be laid on for all budgets to Exclusive Use Groups.

Whisky Tours; These include; Dewars at Aberfeldy, Grouse near Crieff, Bells at Pitlochry and many more that should not be missed.

Fishing; Salmon and Brown Trout fishing on The Tay between Aberfeldy and Grandtully with fly casting tuition or a Ghillie with a boat available for hire. See activities section on fishing.

Directions
Via Aberfeldy:
Follow the A827 out of Aberfeldy towards the A9, as you leave Aberfeldy you should see Dewars Distillery on your right. Keep on this road for 5 miles or so and eventually you will come to a set of traffic lights on a small bridge. Go over the bridge and The Grandtully car park entrance is the 3rd track on the right, just before the Grandtully itself and park in residents car park.

Via A9 Ballinluig junction:
From the A9 north or south, leave the A9 at Ballinluig and head on the A827 to Grandtully / Aberfeldy.Continue on this road until you cross The Tay and come to a junction. At this junction turn right and Grandtully is the next village you come into. The Grandtully is situated on the left hand side, the car park entrance is the track just down the side of it which takes you round the back of it.

From Weem (Scenic Route):
Instead of following the B846 into Aberfeldy, take the scenic route by taking the back-road signposted Strathtay, first left after The Ailean Chraggen Restaurant / Pub. Travel for about 5 miles, you will then come into Strathtay, with the local Post Office / shop on your right and at this junction turn right. This will take you to a green bridge which takes you over The Tay. Once crossed you come to a main road, turn right again and The Grandtully is 30 meters on you left, take the track just past it and park round the back in car park provided for residents only.
