Absolutely stunning 2 bedroomed apartment in a grade II listed building on Newcastle's quayside. 20m from Tyne Bridge. Luxuriously appointed throughout. Situated in a pedestrianised area.
The building the apartment is in has Italianate styling and was built in 1860 to house the offices of Newcastle's wealthiest merchants (one Otto Frederick Ernest Bernicke, a Californian corn merchant is believed to be the first occupant).
Sandhill View sleeps up to 5 with one double bedroom and one bedroom with mezzanine double bed and single bed below. There is one travertine tiled bathroom with whirlpool bath, Grohe double headed shower and waterproof TV. There is an adjoining door between the two bedrooms which can be locked if required. The main bedroom benefits from a very small terraced area accessed via 4 steps. The terrace has no views to speak of, but does receive the sun all afternoon into evening.
The large living area has great views of the Tyne bridge through 4 beautiful arched windows. Unfortunately the apartment is unsuitable for disabled visitors since the building has no lift (the apartment is on the first floor).
Within 20 metres of the apartment you could admire the Tyne Bridge, visit the historic buildings of the Guildhall and Bessie Surtees House, have a drink in Newcastle's oldest pub and enjoy art and lunch in the Side cafe and gallery.
Within 5 minutes walk you could visit the Moot Hall, medieval Newcastle including the Castle Keep, Millenium Bridge, St Nicholas Cathedral, Sage music centre, Live Theatre and Baltic art gallery.
For gastronomes within literally 2 minutes walk you could enjoy Italian, Indian, Persian, Turkish, Chinese, French, Spanish and English restaurants. There are innumerable pubs and clubs within walking distance.
For the family the Discovery Museum, Centre for Life, St James Park and the Seven Sisters children's book museum are within walking distance (or if you prefer hop one one of the tourist or Quaylink buses that stop right next to the apartment).
Shoppers are spoilt for choice with the attractions of Eldon Square shopping centre 5 minutes walk away and a 20 minute bus ride to the Metrocentre (the largest shopping and leisure centre in Europe). There is a Sunday market on the quayside selling local crafts, artwork, jewellery and fashion amongst other things.
Also available from August 25th - Sandhill Penthouse - a luxurious apartment over two floors sleeping up to 8.

Directions
Arriving from the A1 take A189/A184 exit for Gateshead (Centre). Move into right hand lane signposted A189 Newcastle. Cross the Redheugh Bridge taking first left, then left at mini roundabout, then sharp left again, signed B1600 for Quayside.
Continue on B1600 passing through traffic lights, then sharp right and down towards river. Pass under High Level bridge, giving way to traffic from right. After 200 yards you will see a pub called the Red House on your left (it is in fact painted red). Sandhill apartments are in the building with the arched windows to the right of the Red House. The permit car park is just behind the Guildhall (the building now on your right).
