Tower Cottage is a recently renovated Georgian house in the Gosport area of Hampshire, it is ideally situated as a base for either sailing or exploring the Hampshire countryside.
The cottage gets its name from a tiny tower above the eaves of the house which, it is said, was used to observe shipping in the Solent in the late 18th century. Since that time more houses have been built which sadly all but obliterate the view, however the quirky room is a nice spot to take a book and read in peace above the rest of the house!
There are three double bedrooms, three twin bedrooms, two ensuites and two further bathrooms. Cots are available and can easily be accommodated in the spacious double rooms.
The ground floor is bright, airy and oak floored throughout. There is a newly fitted modern kitchen which includes a Neff oven and a large 5 burner glass hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is an additional fridge freezer in the utility/laundry room which convenienlty has a door leading to the rear garden thus allowing both ease of laundry drying and the shedding of wet and dirty sports/sailing gear. The adjacent ground floor shower room has also proved popular with our guests.
The breakfast area forms the bend of the L shaped open plan living space leading from the kitchen through to the dining room and a swift adjustment of chairs allows 12 people to dine comfortably at the large American oak dining table. The dining room has French doors onto the large walled and secluded front garden, perfect on a summers evening.
The sitting room has a period fireplace and three comfortable leather sofas so there is ample room to relax, watch TV, play games or just sit and chat, this room also has French windows leading to the front garden.
