Hamilton Cottage

Tain
Cottage's own web site
Hamilton Cottage is a traditional stone cottage ideal for couples. Situated in Arabella Holdings, in the Easter Ross area it is on a secluded working farm surrounded by woodland and offers the perfect base from which to explore the North Highlands.

There are beautiful (Award Winning) sandy beaches, hill/forest walks and bird-watching opportunities close by and the Easter Ross area is steeped in history with ancient pictish sites close to Arabella.

Set on one level, Hamilton Cottage comprises a double bedroom, a shower room and an open plan living area where there is a modern, discrete kitchen. High quality bed linen and towels are supplied and facilities include, dishwasher, digital TV, DVD. Newly completed for the 2008 season the cottage's style is clean, contemporary and luxurious, its traditional charm is combined with up to date style and convenience.

Outside there is a small area of garden leading to a gravelled parking/seating area. Adjoining this is a good sized grassed area sheltered by trees where there are a table and chairs for two to relax (barbeque also available).

Hamilton Cottage's location means that it is very quiet (apart from the occasional sound of happy hens and their Rooster) with no traffic on the single track roads around it, other than the very few residents of the holdings (this does include a working farm - so there may be an occasional tractor!)

Guests will be greeted with a welcome pack consisting of everything you will need to make yourself at home right away including a fresh loaf of our traditionally slow-fermented, organic home made bread and half a dozen eggs from our own free range, organically kept hens or ducks (depending on your preference!).

Change over day is Saturday. Guests can fly to Inverness from various Airports in England and Scotland, where a car can be hired or take a bus or train. The owners will collect guests from the bus or train (from Invergordon, Alness or Dingwall) for a charge should this be required.

Wherever you may wander during the day, Hamilton Cottage awaits your return in the evening, to relax and catch up on your favourite TV programme or perhaps to muse over the day's memories in your own pleasant garden, listening to the gentle sound of the evening birds as the sun sets the sky alight - all this over a long cool glass of your favourite tipple....bliss!

Directions
Arabella is approximately 30 miles north of Inverness, not far off the main A9 through the Highlands.

From Inverness, travel north on the A9, over the Cromarty Bridge. Bypass Dingwall, Alness and Invergordon.

Approximately 6 miles north of Invergordon, at a staggered crossroads, you will see a large green road sign indicating Arabella to the right over a weight restricted bridge. Turn right at this junction, after passing over a hump back railway bridge follow the country road for around 2 miles. You will need to look out for very small road signs directing you left into Arabella Holdings, turn left at the second of these signs. Hamilton Cottage is the small stone cottage on the right. It is just beside our cottage which is the first house (white) on the right.
