Stable Loft rural holiday apartment Cheddar

Winscombe
Stable Loft is a spacious, modern apartment above our working stables, situated in 10 acres of grounds in the small village of Shipham, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Nr. Cheddar, Somerset.

It has panoramic views across fields to the Mendips and Weston-super-Mare, and you can watch horses from your windows, grazing in the fields and being ridden in the arena below. Wildlife abound and we have rabbits, foxes, deer, badgers, squirrels and a large selection of birds visiting us.

The luxury accomodation is finished in a bright, modern style with open plan living and dining room, superbly fitted kitchen and breakfast bar with two stools. There is a glass dining table seating four, comfortable sofas and easy chairs for six and a tv and cd/dvd player. Both large bedrooms, one twin, one double, are EN-SUITE, one with a huge wetroom and the other with a luxury fitted bathroom. The comfortable bed settee in the lounge can accommodate two more guests. There is a utility/drying room with washing machine, ideal for drying wet clothes.

Stable Loft is ideally situated for all country pursuits, riding from our own stables, climbing, potholing, fishing, mountain biking or simply touring the area, and there are many golf courses within easy reach. Walkers will love it here as we are on the slopes of the Mendip Hills by the West Mendip Way, and a varied network of paths through Rowberrow Forest and the open moor of Blackdown. For sailing and fishing enthusiasts there are nearby lakes at Blagdon and Chew Valley and the reservoir at Cheddar, with the coast of Weston-super-Mare about 8 miles away.

A short 5 minute stroll from Stable Loft, brings you to Shipham village which has a pub, hotel and restaurant, tiny cafe and a shop which sells papers, meat and general provisions. Just on the outskirts of the village you will find Lillypool Cafe and Cheese and Cider Farm, where you can sample the local produce or buy some to take away.

Other nearby attractions include Cheddar Gorge and caves (3 miles), Wookey Hole, Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury and Wells, Britain's smallest City. There are many attractions for children nearby including Bristol Zoo, Longleat Safari Park, the pier at Weston-super-Mare, Court Farm at Banwell, and in nearby Churchill there is a dry ski slope, archery, quad biking etc. If you prefer a less hectic holiday then just come and relax in the peaceful surroundings.
