Wallaceton Cottage Holiday Annex

Auldgirth
Wallaceton Cottage is situated in the delightful Cairn Valley close to the villages of Dunscore and Moniaive. It is 11 miles from the historic town of Dumfries, which offers many places of interest: Burns' Museum, the Camera Obscura and the newly opened sports and entertainment centre, as well as a cinema.

There are many restaurants, bars and shops to cater for all needs. A short drive to the Henry Moore statues is a must, along with a visit to the food town of Castle Douglas. This area lends itself to many types of holiday, whether it be walking, cycling, fishing or just soaking in the countryside around.

This tastefully decorated annex to Wallaceton Cottage has a separate entrance and is completely self-contained. It consists of a double bedroom en-suite located downstairs.

The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. This kitchen has been recently installed and has a dining area, laminate flooring and French doors leading to the outside area.

Stairs lead you to the upper floor, which has a second WC and wash hand basin. The lounge is on this floor, which offers a superb view across the valley. In the lounge there is a television and DVD player along with music system with CD player. There is a small reading library, which guests are welcome to borrow from.

Central heating is oil fired with an electric backup system.
Upon arrival you will be provided with clean linen, fresh towels and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and butter.

To the front of the property is a parking area for 2 cars.
There is a non smoking policy and no pets.

To the North of Wallaceton Cottage, lies Thornhill and a few miles further north takes you to Drumlanrig Castle, the home of the Duke of Buccleuch, the castle contains many impressive pieces of art. The grounds and gardens alone are worth a visit. Events held there include horse carriage trials, country fairs and farmers' markets.

Wallaceton Cottage is in a prime location from which to explore locally and further afield, with Glasgow and Edinburgh approximately one and a half hours by car.

Dumfries and Galloway is a beautiful and interesting area, well worth visiting, encompassing scenic coastline, rolling hills, history aplenty and a warm Scottish welcome.
