Chestnutt Cottage, and nearby Beach hut on Southwold Promenade is the Suffolk sea-side holiday property of Chestnutt Studios- a group of artists based in Suffolk.The cottage is 3/4 mile (20 min walk) from Southwold Market Square and from our beach hut on Southwold promenade.

Our cottage is a very well equipped, comfortable, centrally heated, semi detached, modern style cottage which sleeps 4, in 2 bedrooms- 1 double bed and 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have ample storage. It has an upstairs bathroom.

Downstairs is the living dining room, well equipped kitchen, a downstairs shower WC and a conservatory; leading onto a small, private, well planted, sunny back garden - ideal for afternoon tea.

Off road parking is in front of the garage in the unadopted side road - not used for a car, but where you are welcome to store your bicycles.

Our house has everything we think you may need. If we have forgotten anything please tell us and we will try to provide it for your next visit.

Small Sunny Conservatory (hanging hooks for coats) coffee table, chairs, opening onto the sheltered, well planted garden, garden furniture.

Kitchen, vinyl flooring, has washing machine, full size dishwasher, electric hob unit and built in electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, food processor, food mixer, liquidiser, toaster, electric kettle, slow cooker, ample supply of cutlery, plates, mugs, glasses, pots and pans etc.

Downstairs shower, WC and wash basin is off the kitchen.

Living area is fully carpeted, double glazing, gas central heating, comfortable furnishings, simple, stylish decor, TV( BBC1,2, ITV 1, Channel 4,) radio,CD player, DVD player, video recorder, dining table, coffee tables, sofa and 2 arm chairs, reading lights, original art work by Chestnutt Studios Artists on display, books to read, games to play, CDs and DVDs, videos to watch or hear.

Under the stairs you will find an iron, ironing board, hair drier. torches; vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, fire extinguisher, sellotape etc.

Bedroom 2, is fully carpeted, 2x90 cm single beds, stools, 2 bedside drawers, built in wardrobe, clothes storage, dressing table, long mirror, radio, bedside lights, duvets and pillows, mattress protectors provided.

Bedroom 1, is fully carpeted,1x135 cm double bed, bedside tables, reading lights, TV, triple mirror, long mirror, chest of drawers, hanging rail, chairs, ample clothes storage etc; space for a travel cot in both bed rooms, duvets, pillows, mattress protectors provided.

Bed Linen, towels and tea towels can be provided (see tariff) and beds made up ready for your arrival etc.

The beach hut may only be rented when Chestnutt Cottage is hired too. The cottage may be hired without the beach hut.

Local Services: Our beach hut , which may be available to rent when you hire our cottage , is on Southwold promenade, a mere 20 min walk away, as is Southwold Town itself, with its shops,award winning pubs and restaurants, millenium pier, harbour, river common, golf course etc. Within easy reach are Minsmere Bird Reserve, Snape Maltings Concert Hall and the towns and villages of the Suffolk Heritage Coast- Walberswick, Thorpeness, Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge etc.

u>By Car:
Travelling North from Ipswich, Turn Right off the A12 towards Southwold B1095. Carry straight on until you come to the sign post for Reydon (about 4 miles). After about 300 yds, Turn Right into Hill Road (unadopted). Chestnutt Cottage parking space is the first on the right, in front of our marked garage.

Pricing and Opening Times

Cottage: £250.00 - £625.00 weekly.

Beach Hut: ( only able to hire with the cottage) £135- £175 weekly £35.00- £40 daily. High season charges apply May- Sep inclusive

Short Breaks: £95.00 - £120.00 a night (min 3 nights).
