Holiday Cottage: 5643 Stirling

Lodge exterior

Lochearnhead
Visit Scotland:   4 star
Situated in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, this luxury wooden lodge was built in 2008, designed and furnished to a high specification. Ideal for family holidays, the lodge has 3 bedrooms (one with ensuite shower room), open plan living area, family bathroom, extensive deck and garden area.

The lodge is one of seven in a small, family run holiday park, but is privately owned and managed. It combines privacy with the convenience of on site facilities such as a farm shop, children’s play area and nature trail.

The lodge is extremely well equipped, and inside you can find:
Kitchen: gas hob & oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, blender.
Dining: solid oak table, 6 oak dining chairs.
Lounge: 32-inch Sony Bravia TV, Sky freeview, DVD player & extensive DVD library, iPod dock, PS2 & games, books and maps, 2 3-seater sofas.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom with king size bed, ensuite shower room, built in wardrobe; bedroom 2 with king size bed, built in wardrobe; bunk bedroom with 2 full size single beds. Bed linen & towels included.
Family bathroom with shower over bath.
Vestibule with cupboards to hang outdoor kit.

Outside the lodge:
Enjoy the stunning views from the extensive decking to front and side, solid wood table & 6 chairs (seat cushions provided), 2 further benches, potted herbs & shrubs. Grassed area with fire pit style barbeque, 2 loungers and drinks table. Shallow, but steep burn to side & pond to rear.

In oak woodlands, on a west facing slope, with a burn to one side & pond at rear, the site attracts local wildlife in abundance, including a lively family of red squirrels. Bird food is provided for the feeders around the lodge, and you can expect to see chaffinches, tits, siskins, tree creepers and wagtails.

Private parking for 2 cars.

Local services include an on site shop, restaurant (open part year) within 5 minutes walk, hotel-pub within 15 minutes walk, and the famous Rob Roy's Grave is 4 miles away.

At Lochearnhead (2 miles) there is a water sports centre and fishing permits are available for the Loch and local rivers. The area is excellent for walking with paths to Strathyre (4 miles) and Lochearnhead (2 miles).

There are many Munros and Corbetts nearby - the closest Munros being Ben Vorlich and Stuc A Croin, within a short drive. Corbetts Creag Mac Ranaich and Meall an-t-Sallaidh can be climbed from the lodge.

Highlights
  • Beautiful views over the hills.
  • Red squirrels in the trees.
