The cottage retains a wealth of original features, including window seats with views to the fells, open fires, comfy brass beds and a huge woodburning stove - perfect to come home to after a day walking.
Accommodation briefly comprises: 2 double bedrooms with brass beds, cast iron fireplaces. 3rd bedroom with solid oak bunk beds. Laura Ashley soft furnishings. Fully fitted bathroom with shower & heated towel rail.
Downstairs the dining/kitchen area has an inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove, dining table seating 8 persons, galley kitchen with oven/hob, butlers sink and craftsman built oak units. The utility room is well equipped.
The lounge has an open fire and TV/DVD, and the snug a TV/DVD and good selection of games and books.
The village has a small shop, pub and tennis courts.
The cottage is ideally situated to explore the quieter North Western Fells with Loweswater, Crummock Water, Buttermere, Bassenthwaite and Derwent Water all on the doorstep along with the market towns of Cockermouth and Keswick.

Although we do not have a garden, close to the cottage is a large grassy area next to the stream, with a bench and views of the Loweswater fells. Suitable for picnicking.

Directions
Get onto the M6 North
Come off the M6 at Junction 40. (M6 Meets A66)
At Junction 40 Take West A66 towards Keswick.
Stay on A66 past Keswick follow signs for Cockermouth until the left turn to Lorton via Braithwaite and the Whinlatter Pass (B5292)
Go over the Whinlatter pass, past the Whinlatter visitors centre on the right. (good place to take children, forest trials, coffee shop)
After the descent from the visitors’ centre, First Left is to Hopebeck and is signed C2C (Coast to Coast Cycle Route) IGNORE THIS
Next Left (just before sign for Lorton) small road that says unsuitable for vehicles. It is actually OK. Follow this road down and Corner house is at the end of this road on the right hand side actually on the Corner.
