Happiness Cottage is an 18th century semi-detached cottage with inglenook fireplace in the picturesque village of Piddlehinton, nestled in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Dorset.

This pretty thatched grade 2 listed property, is within easy reach of many of Dorset’s beautiful bays and beaches along the Jurassic coast and is perfectly situated for many of Dorset’s natural and historical attractions.

With its own self contained garden, sun terrace and cosy relaxing atmosphere, Happiness cottage is perfect for a family escape to the country or a quiet romantic rural retreat.

The cottage comprises of a comfy living room with inglenook fire place and wood burning stove (with starter basket of logs), and a fully equipped kitchen with a table and seating area.

Upstairs there is a bright double bedroom and a second spacious twin bedroom. The bathroom has both a bath and shower.

Outside the cottage the enclosed garden has a sun terrace with table and chairs, perfect for breakfast or evening drinks, and a grassed sloping lawn area.

The attractive and friendly village of Piddlehinton boasts 3 pubs serving local traditional food, a village millennium green and the pretty river Piddle running through the heart of the village, just a stones throw from the cottage.

Step out from the front door and enjoy many picturesque country walks. There is also a village shop nearby selling local farm produce..

If coming from the East on the A35 take the B3142 sign posted Piddlehinton.
From Dorchester take the B3143 sign posted Piddlehinton. Follow the B3143 and on entering the village of Piddlehinton, take the left turn after the church. Happiness cottage is the first cottage on your right opposite the church.
