Shillingstone
Cottage's own web site
Shillingstone is a medium sized village (pop c 1,300) on the A357 between Sturminster Newton and Blandford Forum. To the North lie the prehistoric hill forts of Hambledon and Hod Hills, and to the South Shillingstone Hill and White Pit.

Toad Hall and the annex share full length decking facing due South, thereby affording outstanding views of Shillingstone Hill and White Pit.

The annex is self-contained and centrally heated throughout.

The kitchen/diner has a fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave and washing machine (but no dish washer).

The lounge has sliding patio doors leading onto the decking.

The bedroom has fitted wardrobes and cupboards and two zip-together 3 ft beds. In addition there is a 2ft 6in bed in the lounge. There are Freeview televisions in both the lounge (26in) and the bedroom (21in).

When it was re-furbished a few years ago it was designed to be convenient for its' elderly occupants. Electricity sockets are at waist level. The bathroom is spacious but does not include a bath. However the shower cubicle is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair and the toilet has hand rails for support.

There are 5 doors at the property – front door into hall (2ft 8in), hall to kitchen/diner (2ft 8in), hall to bathroom (2ft 8in), hall to bedroom (2ft 6in), kitchen/diner to lounge (3ft 7in) and lounge to decking (3ft 3in).

Shillingstone is conveniently located for all of the visitor attractions of Dorset, many of which can be previewed via links from our website.

Walking is a very popular activity in the county, with a large variety of places to explore – few are very strenuous, as the highest point in Dorset is only 279m (at Lewesdon Hill).

For short or long stays Toad Hall Annex is well worth a visit!
