This delightful cottage has been completely renovated and offers very comfortable accommodation. Nestling in the tiny hamlet of Godfrey Hole, it is set amidst the beautiful Derbyshire Dales countryside on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
Some of the buildings are thought to date back to the mid 17th century and the cottage was originally a barn for the farmhouse next door.
Built on the old London to Manchester turnpike, Godfrey Hole reputedly gained its name from Sir Godfrey, a notorious local highwayman who once holed up in the neighbouring cave.
The cottage is close to many interesting Derbyshire towns and villages and there are plenty of good walking opportunities nearby.
The cottage has a light and airy breakfast room and a cosy lounge with wood burning stove and countryside views. The bedrooms have been tastefully decorated.
