Burnet Cottage

Duns
Cottage's own web site
Burnet Cottage is a Cosy, Old, Stone-built Cottage providing self catering holiday accommodation in the Lammermuir hills of South East Scotland.

The area is away from traffic noise, off the beaten track and unlike many areas of Scotland is not at all touristy. The relative absence of people and traffic in the area and the beautiful countryside make it very peaceful here and a great place to unwind.

The views from the cottage and in general, are often remarked upon and definitely worth bringing your camera for.

The single track roads, farm tracks, fields the Oak valley with the river Monynut and the Lammermuir hills make for great walks.

Dog-Pet Friendly.

Last Minute Bookings Welcome.

To view the area, go to the cottage website, click on maps and you will find a link to the Google map of the area. Drag the little yellow man onto one of the roads, which come up in blue and it is then possible to see good images of the scenery, almost as if you are driving along the road.

Alternatively, view the map on this page.

Directions
From the A1:
Grantshouse is a little village on the A1, between Berwick and Dunbar. Leave the A1 at Grantshouse and take the A6112 towards Duns. After about 3 miles turn off to the right (There is a triangular island of grass marked out by the roads here). After about 1½ miles there is a road off on the right - don't take this one - take the next road on the left in about one more mile (this should be signed for Abbey Saint Bathans). After around 1½ miles take the narrow, uphill road on the right (There is a sign for Godscroft here). After ¼ mile you will find Burnet Cottage on the right.

From Duns:
Take the A6112 towards Grantshouse and the A1. After about mile take the road on the left. This is the B6355 signed to Gifford. After about 2½ miles look out for a steep road off to the right. This road should be signed for Abbey Saint Bathans. Follow this road (single track) and about one mile after Abbey Saint Bathans the road curves to the right uphill. Follow the road uphill and take the left turn (signed to Godscroft) after two hundred yards or so. After ¼ mile you will find Burnet Cottage on the right. This route - through Abbey Saint Bathans is an exceptionally scenic approach.
