Directions

From A1 Northbound:
From the A1 turn on to the A64 heading for York. Keep on the A64 around York and head towards Scarborough. Turn of the A64 on to the A169 heading for Pickering.
Distance from the A1/A64 junction to the A64/A169 junction approximately 35miles.
When you arrive in Pickering turn left at the roundabout signposted Helmsley/Thirsk.
In Pickering turn right the traffic lights (heading North), signposted Steam Railway.

From A1 Southbound:
From the A1 Turn on to the A61 towards Thirsk. From Thirsk follow the A170 into Helmsley.
Go through Helmsley keeping on A170 heading towards Pickering / Scarborough.
From the A1 to Pickering approximately 35 miles.
In Pickering turn left at the traffic lights in Pickering (heading North), signposted Steam Railway.

From A172:
On the A172 Turn onto the B1257 heading towards Helmsley. In Helmsley go on the A170 heading towards Pickering / Scarborough.
Distance from Stokesley to Helmsely approximately 20 miles.
In Pickering turn left at the traffic lights in Pickering (heading North), signposted Steam Railway.
From the Steam Railway Station Rawcliffe House farm is 6 miles North up the Road. Go past the railway station, past a trout farm and over a level crossing.
Continue up the hill and follow the road into the village of Newton-upon-Rawcliffe (after 4 miles). Go through the village and carry on the road. You will come to a steep wooded bank; drive down the road, as soon as you come out of the trees you will see Rawcliffe House Farm, continue for ½ mile it is the 1st entrance on the left.
