Hendersyde Farm Cottages

Kelso
Visit Scotland:   4 star
Cottage's own web site
You are always welcome at Hendersyde - our family farm, which lies between the River Tweed and Eden Water, just two miles from Kelso, one of the most attractive market towns in Scotland!

Our three traditional farm cottages stand in a peaceful spot, at the end of their own lane, in the middle of the farm. Surrounded by walks, wildlife and wonderful views, you can see right across the Tweed Valley to the Cheviot Hills in Northumberland and to the Eildon Hills near Melrose.

Sleeping up to four people, in a twin and double bed room. The cottages are warm, comfy and very well equipped with central heating and a cosy open-fire. The private, enclosed gardens are a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sights and songs of the border countryside.

Walking across the farm you might see otter by the waterside, deer wandering between the woods, or salmon leaping in the Tweed. We actively encourage wildlife and birds and are always delighted if you hear the sky larks singing, see barn owls hunting and buzzard wheeling overhead.

Quiet country roads weave through the rolling Border hills leading to small country towns and villages, each with their own character and charm.

The stunning coast line with cliff top walks, sea-bird colonies, sandy beaches, rocky coves, the Farne Islands, Lindisfarne and castles such as Bamburgh are all within easy reach.

Keeps, castles, great houses, and ancient abbeys are part of the landscape and fascinating history of the Borders. Hendersyde is in a perfect position to explore both sides of the border. The stunning new garden at Alnwick Castle, in Northumberland is under an hour away, Edinburgh is just over an hour.

Whether you have nerves of steel revelling in mountain biking at Glentress, or the gentler pace of local cycle trails?! Fish for salmon on the world famous Tweed, walk the hills or waterside savouring the space and light; golf the courses, from the Roxburgh championship course or over the rich variety of settings of the many local courses; ride the hills or along the beach, you'll be spoilt for choice!

The Scottish Borders inspires a rich selection of wonderfully talented craftsmen working with textiles, wood, glass, clay, paint and pencil, there are over 80 creative workshops and galleries to visit in the area!

If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to get in touch. We would love to welcome you to stay at Hendersyde!
