Enjoy England:   4 star
Cottage's own web site
Award-winning East Briscoe Farm Cottages are set in a beautiful, peaceful, south-facing position on a 14 acre riverside estate. The cottages are six miles from the attractive market town of Barnard Castle and two miles from Cotherstone, the nearest village which has a village shop and two pubs one of which serves excellent food.

Surrounded by High Pennine moorland and traditional farmland meadows, East Briscoe offers a wealth of interest for nature-lovers, walkers and cyclists, and forms an ideal base for touring the north of England. Guests can enjoy free trout-fishing on the estate, free-range eggs from the resident hens, and seasonal food from the vegetable garden.

The Cottages

Studio Cottage - Sleeps 2 (4 with double sofa bed)Pets allowed
Studio is ideal for two people. It has a bathroom, double bedroom and large living area with kitchen, breakfast bar and sitting room. There is room for an extra bed in the sitting room or the sofa converts to a double bed.

Barn Cottage - Sleeps 4 (5 with extra bed)Pets allowed
Originally a grain store, its high ceilings and spaciousness are unusual for a country cottage, as is its large arched sitting room window. The sitting room is a good-size with open stairs to the first floor which has a spacious double bedroom, a twin bedroom and the bathroom. The dining room leads from the sitting room to a separate kitchen with a dishwasher

Low Barn Cottage - Sleeps 4 (5 with extra bed) Pets allowed. All areas are wheelchair accessible.
The entrance lobby leads to the bathroom, a double bedroom, and a good-size kitchen/dining room with a dishwasher. A gently sloping passage leads to the sitting room and through this to the twin bedroom which is comfortably large enough for an extra bed.

West Cottage - Sleeps 4 (or 6 with extra beds) No pets.
Our largest cottage. Both bedrooms can accommodate an extra folding bed or the understairs alcove can hold two beds. There is a big sitting room with an open staircase leading to the first floor with the bathroom, one twin and one double bedroom. A kitchen/dining room leads from the sitting room.

Farm and Middle Cottages - Each sleeps 2 (or up to 4 if folding beds are used). No pets.
These two cottages are very similar. Upstairs, each has a bathroom and a good-sized double bedroom which can easily take an extra folding bed. The sitting rooms downstairs have an open fire. There are modest-sized kitchen/dining rooms overlooking the meadows at the back of the farm.

Fuel for the electric storage heaters and the gas fire is included in the rental price. All linen and towels are included in the rental price. Colour TV, radio, microwave oven, enclosed garden, barbecue, video, fridge freezer, plenty of parking. Cot and high chair can be included free of charge. Washing machines and a tumble dryer are provided on site.
