Tunnel House is a newly refurbished holiday property situated in the heart of Appledore North Devon, located only a minutes walk away from Appledore's famous quay where you will find many pubs - restaurants and galleries to browse.
The village of Appledore is set on the estuary where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet and head out to sea, Appledore quay is central to life in the village with many activities to take part in.
You can enjoy fishing trips - crabbing contests - pilot gig racing - Appledore Regatta (early August) or take the ferry across the river to Instow with its huge sandy beach or just wander the narrow streets of this 14th century fishing village.
For the more adventurous of you surfing - karting and arcades are all to be found in nearby Westward Ho! with probably the best sandy beach in North Devon (3 miles long,) wet suit & board hire are available on the beach.
For people who play golf we have selected the best three courses in the area with all contact details on our Things To Do page, bike hire is another family favourite, hire a bike and head along the Tarka trail to either Barnstaple or Torrington or Barnstapl a flatter route. Kayaks are also available to hire if you fancy taking to the water, (see Bideford bike hire on things to do page).
Tunnel House is situated set back from one of Appledore's oldest streets, built around the 1800s this 3 bedroom Victorian grade II listed building is arranged over 3 floors easily sleeping 5 people with one of the top rooms with river views. Tunnel house is equipped with all modern appliances new kitchen with washer/dryer, oven/hob, dishwasher etc.
In the lounge a wood burning stove and patio doors leading to a very secluded secure courtyard garden with table and chairs and barbeque for you to enjoy. We have tried to make Tunnel House as child and family friendly as possible, with stair gates fitted on both sets of stairs and a cot is available free of charge for those families who require it.
