Cottage's own web site
Seafield Farm has been in the same family for 100 years and has provided holidays for most of that time. The cottages, converted from the traditional farm steading, are warm, comfortable and have excellent facilties.

Situated at the head of Loch Sween, sheltered by ancient oak woodlands, the cottages have a unique situation for visitors looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings.

We also have Kirkland Lodge, a detached timber built chalet in its own woodland garden with uninterrupted loch views and a wood burning stove.

The area has miles of empty forest roads for walking and cycling. Wildlife is abundant and you can see osprey, buzzards, otters, seals, red squirrels and deer. Loch Sween is very sheltered and perfect for kayaking.

Each cottage sleeps 4 plus a cot in two bedrooms; one twin, one double. They also have a bed settee in the living room.
Kirkland sleeps 3 plus a cot.

We run the cottages in an environmentally friendly manner and when we were members of Visitscotland, were awarded Four Stars and a Gold Award for Green Tourism. Although no longer members, we endeavour to maintain and exceed the standards required for such an award.

The recent installation of a log fired boiler provides heat and hot water for the cottages, house and workshop. We tend the boiler, you enjoy the heat.

We have also installed photo voltaic panels at Seafield and Kirkland to provide some of our electricity. Other measures include use of low energy light bulbs and appliances, composting, recycling and encouraging non wasteful use of power and water. None of the measures will compromise your comfort, but help to keep prices down.

We no longer farm but have a few chickens and a vegetable and fruit plot. Jane makes willow baskets, bread, jam, cakes and puddings and James works full time for the Forestry Commission and has a small saw mill, enjoys fly fishing and fungi foraging.

Permits for boat hire and fly fishing on local freshwater lochs are available from Seafield. You can borrow bicycles (adults) and hire sit on top kayaks to explore the loch.

We look forward to welcoming you to Seafield Farm.
