Esgair Holiday Cottages (Upper Barn Cottage), beautifully located in a secluded valley inside the southern edge of the stunning Snowdonia National Park in North Wales and surrounded by the Dyfi (Dovey) Forest.
Our house is called Esgair Angell.
Set above the River Angell, in the Dovey Valley, Esgair Angell means
"Ridge above the River Angell" This is a wonderfully peaceful location, far away from the stresses of everyday life.
Our home, an attractive typical Welsh farmhouse, has stood here for around 400 years and is the second oldest property within the Aberangell parish boundary. We have 23 acres of land, part of which is home to our neighbour's flock of sheep. The rest comprises attractive trees and shrub borders, a large pond stocked with fish and inhabited by varying numbers of ducks and herons, with occasional visits from shag and cormorant, a wild flower area and a small parcel of woodland. The whole area is surrounded by
beautiful Welsh countryside in every direction.
Our non-smoking, self-catering cottage is in the newly renovated stone barn, situated just a few yards behind our house.
There is a dedicated parking area for guests and various seating areas aound the garden. A mobile barbeque is available. Our own grounds, extending to 23 acres include a large pond stocked with fish, and can be enjoyed by our visitors. Fishing is permitted on a catch and return basis.
Shared washing and drying facilities are available in the main house. Well behaved small pets are welcome.
