" Set amongst the rolling hills of the South Hams, this country estate generates a sense of peace and tranquillity...

Once a dairy farm, Lower Tideford Farm with its cluster of stone barn conversions has retained many of its original features. There are 5 cottages centered around a courtyard, the properties are set amidst rolling pastureland down a long farm driveway giving perfect seclusion.

Close by there are many walks through the beautiful South Hams countryside to be enjoyed. In the fields surrounding the farm there are frequently cows and sheep and lambs. The courtyard is a haven of peace, a real suntrap where guests can relax, read a book and enjoy the views across the valley.

A large play barn with basketball, badminton and table tennis is an added attraction and a firm favourite for all ages. The communal barbecue area is a great place to make friends and drink a glass of wine as the evening draws in. Lower Tideford is ideal for families who are looking for a perfect place in which to relax and unwind.

All cottages provide a warm and welcoming base from which to explore the surrounding region. Discover the properties' name-sake towns of Cornworthy, Dartmouth, Dittisham, Tuckenhay and Salcombe, which like the cottages themselves, each have their own distinctive characters.

Step back in time in Tudor Totnes, and see the locals in period costume during the summer weeks. Board the steam train bound for Buckfastleigh, and purchase home-made wine and honey from the monks at its magnificent abbey.

For those keen on the great outdoors, there are wonderful footpaths nearby which meander through meadows and orchards - affording ample opportunities to sample some local cider along the way. The dramatic scenery of the South West Coastal Path and the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park beckon slightly further afield.

Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck along the local rivers and lakes. For more active pursuits, there is sailing, horse-riding, cycling and golf. Dartmouth Golf and Country Club (1½miles), offering swimming-pool, gym, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi, with 25% discount for Lower Tideford guests.

Many inviting country restaurants and inns close by. The Eden Project within a one hour drive. Guests will enjoy the serenity and tranquillity of Lower Tideford Farm.
