The Byre

Goodleigh
Cottage's own web site
Enjoy the perfect holiday home in North Devon. Relax at The Byre - one of the rare rural retreats for up to six people.

It's a great getaway for family or friends, ideal for family holidays, nestling amidst peaceful Exmoor foothills on the edge of the charming village of Goodleigh. You are just 3 minutes from Barnstaple, North Devon's main (and historic) town and just 20 minutes from the North Devon coast with its sandy beaches, great for kids, surfing or just soaking up the sun.

Take the essence of a traditional country holiday home mixed with a touch of continental style and you begin to get a feeling for the Byre at Cross Farm - a modern and well-equipped barn conversion full of character and charm.

Squirrel yourself away in Devon's deep, green countryside, perhaps glimpsing stags upon the wilds of Exmoor or discovering fabulous bluebell-strewn wooded valleys in spring - all perfect for walking (with our without a dog). Head for the stunning sandy beaches of Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton and Putsborough on North Devon's coast for some of the best surfing (and sandcastle building) in the world.

The Perfect Getaway:
The Byre allows you and your friends or family to experience a memorable seaside and country holiday from the comfort of a well-equipped holiday home in a friendly village.

The area is also famous for some of the best surfing in the world and also hosts a stunning nature reserve for birds at Braunton Burrows. For ramblers there are miles of glorious coastal walks and all are well marked.

The Byre, offers everything you need for a family holiday or perfect getaway. It's location just outside Barnstaple means you can enjoy the delights of this ancient country town as well as being 20 minutes from sandy beaches or the wilds of Exmoor, great for long, bracing walks with the dogs at any time of year. Whether it's heather, bluebells, deer or snow covered ponies each season has its beauty.

All this makes The Byre the ideal rural retreat.
