Anglers Holiday Cottages, Thankerton

Holiday Cottage: 6001 Central Scotland

Thankerton
Cottage's own web site
The cottage is set in open moor-land at the foot of the southern uplands, some 6 miles from the market town of Lanark in Scotland. It is an ideal base for both the angler or the family wanting to get away from the crowds and enjoy the peace and scenic beauty of the countryside.

Cycling on our rural roads away from traffic, Hill Walking to suit all categories of walkers from a gentle walk round our lochs to the top of Tinto Hill or Bird Watching taking in the Upland fauna and flora, are but to mention a few activities locally.

If you want to get away from the cooker, there are some very good hotels and restaurants nearby. Should you want to sample the local beverages, we can supply a driver to drop you off and pick you up.

Edinburgh and Glasgow are only an hour away by car or you can use the train service from the local stations. (we can supply you with easy to follow direction sheets to both cities and the local railway stations, or any other venue that you may wish to visit.)

The cottage is situated 2.5 miles from the nearest main road, looking directly on to Tinto Hill (Hill of Fire). Sometimes giving spectacular views of the hill with the sunset reflecting on it.

We will endeavor to make your visit a pleasant experience and are on hand to offer any help that you may need to make your holiday memorable for the right reasons.

If there is anything special that you want to do on holiday, let us know and we will try and arrange this for you.
