Hope Cottage is a charming stone cottage sitting at the foot of the Lowther Hills. It is the perfect place to escape to, with fabulous walks right on your door step. There is a Roman fortlet a mile or so up the Well path which runs through Durisdeer. Hope Cottage sits on the village green opposite the impressive village church which contains the magnificent Queensberry marbles.
The cottage is comfortably furnished and well equipped for up to six people, it has WiFi and internet access. There is a large secluded enclosed garden with views south. The cottage and garden are ideal for dog owners, and there are walks from the door-although dogs should be kept on a lead at all times on the hills.

If you are a keen mountain biker, Drumlanrig Castle with it's miles of mountain bike trails is just 4 miles away and we are within easy reach of many of the 7stanes trails. If you are an angler ,there is excellent Salmon, Sea-trout and brown Trout fishing available on the nearby River Nith and on several lochs nearby.
Durisdeer is an haven of peace and tranquillity, with no through traffic. It ideal for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, dog owners fishermen and cyclists
