Seaside Croft.

Poolewe
Cottage's own web site
Seaside Croft is a modernised crofters cottage on the shore of Loch Ewe, it has wonderful views and direct access to the shore and is a great base from which to explore Wester Ross.

There are sandy beaches (Firemore is just up the road), coastal and woodland walks, the Beinn Eighe nature reserve by Loch Maree, and wartime heritage trails. Slioch and the mountains of Torridon to the south and An Teallach to the north for more adventurous walking.

Inverewe Garden (NTS)is well known but there are also Leckmelm (near Corrieshalloch Gorge - also NTS) and Attadale Gardens, Ullapool Applecross and Skye are a short drive away.

Locally there are craft shops, galleries, a museum, places to eat, fishing, wildlife cruises, golf and pony trekking, so plenty to do.

Or stay at 'home' and relax, our cottage is well equipped and comfortable. There is a large kitchen dining room, a cosy lounge with a peat burning stove (in addition to the electric heating). There are books, games, TV,video/dvd/hi-fi,and its nice just to watch the sunset!

There is one double room (electric blanket - good in winter) and two twin rooms. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The heating is electric (included).

We think it's a great place and our visitors seem to agree!

Highlights
  • The view of the hills over the loch.
  • On the seashore.
