Rosehip Cottage, Bingham

Holiday Cottage: 3282 Nottinghamshire

Bingham
Rosehip Cottage is 200 years old and is what would have once been the gardeners cottage. It is therefore full of character but quite small with low doors and oak beamed ceilings.

It is just about big enough for 4 people comfortably but not suitable for children. It is one of the original '2 up, 2 downs' from around 1800s. In recent years it has been modernised, a small toilet/shower room has been added over an entrance hall and a new flight of stairs to the top floor.

The cottage has been re-decorated and furnished in keeping with its age although I cannot boast actual antiques from that period. I have however found some nice Victorian/Art Deco pieces. You do actually sense a bit of history in the ambiance. The kitchen is big enough to eat round the table, the living room small but cosy, especially when the log fire is blazing away in the grate.

The cottage sits in a no through road to general traffic literally just off the main centre and market square of Bingham, just a short drive or bus ride away from the legendary Nottingham centre ( Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest etc). You can park just outside easily.

On foot the centre of Bingham is just a few minutes walk with all facilities including a Library and Doctor's Surgery. At the top of the road is a Leisure Centre with swimming pool. On Thursdays there is a market in the square. Bingham is rurally situated amongst rolling fields and small villages. There is a terrace to sit out on which catches the afternoon sun and the cottage overlooks a walled garden as it is end of row.
