Attractions in this delightful town include, Britain's oldest water-based cliff lift, a miniature railway line leading from the beach into the Valley Gardens, excellent cliff top walks and sandy beaches.

Within the town centre, a good selection of shops and restaurants are available.

From Saltburn, the North York Moors, often referred to as "Heartbeat Country" are easily accessible, along with the coastal resorts of Staithes and Whitby, famed for their connections with Captain James Cook.
