The Byre and The Granary are located at Swainstye Farm, a traditional working hill farm near the popular tourist village of Osmotherley in the North York Moors National Park. Enjoying a peaceful, elevated south facing position the cottages provide the opportunity for guests to wake up to spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The Byre:
With exposed beams, stone and wood floors and wood-burning stove, The Byre has a traditional cosy cottage feel with a hint of old country charm. Providing accommodation for four people,

The Byre comprises:
  • A spacious living room with exposed beams and wood-burning stove (wood provided free of charge)
  • A well equipped farm house style kitchen / dining room;
  • One double bedroom (with en-suite)
  • One twin bedded room
  • Shower room / WC
    The cottage has TV (with Freeview channels, DVD player, CD player/radio, microwave, cooker, fridge-freezer and hairdryer
    A secure cycle store and laundry / drying room are provided for guests use.
    A welcome pack of essential groceries is provided.

    The Granary:
    Accessed by the traditional stone steps, The Granary provides open plan living, stone and wooden floors and a bedroom with vaulted sloping ceiling. The Granary combines a contemporary feel with a touch of tradition. Providing accommodation for two people.

    The Granary offers:
  • A spacious open plan living / dining room with well equipped
    kitchen area;
  • Shower room / WC;
  • One double bedroom
    The cottage has TV (with Freeview channels), DVD player, CD player/radio, microwave, cooker, fridge-freezer and hairdryer.
    A secure cycle store and laundry / drying room are provided for guests use.
    A welcome pack of essential groceries is provided.

    Guests can enjoy a relaxing break away from the stresses of everyday life at Swainstye Farm, located approx. one mile from the picturesque village of Osmotherley, which nestles against the heather clad moors, wooded hillsides and grassy meadows of the North York Moors National Park. The extensive network of footpaths and bridleways provide a wealth of opportunity to explore this beautiful countryside, which is stunning at any time of year.

    With good transport links, Osmotherley is an ideal place to discover the many and varied attractions of North Yorkshire and the North of England.

    The Byre and The Granary are available for rent on a weekly basis (from Saturday to Saturday). Rentals for shorter or longer breaks are available by negotiation and subject to availability.

    Directions
    By Road From the North and South:
    Exit the A19 dual carriageway (between Thirsk and Teeside)at the A684 slip road signed for Northallerton / Osmotherley. At the centre of Osmotherley village turn left (sign posted Swainby). The tarmac access drive to Swainstye Farm is located approx 1/2 mile from the village. The farm is the second property up the drive.

    By Train:
    Northallerton railway station on the East Coast Mainline is just 7 miles away. Taxi services are available from the station if required.

    By Bus:
    A regular bus service operates to Northallerton and Stokesley / Middlesbrough.
