Lyke Wake Cottage, recently renovated, 1725 farmhouse, provides an exceptional base to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and Dales. Situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, with beautiful views of the Cleveland Hills and Roseberry Topping in the distance, near to the home of Captain Cook, James Herriot and Heartbeat country. Not forgetting Helmsley, Whitby, historic York, and the jewel in the countryside Rieveux Abbey.

Cottage entrance leads to the fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons, including underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, to make your visit a most relaxing and enjoyable one.

The inglenook fireplace and beams within the lounge provides a perfect cosy setting to unwind from the pressures of daily life.

Entertaining, whether in the dining room, with seating for 6, or the seated patio area to enjoy the picturesque local views, is a great option for your holiday stay. Good pub food is also available in the villages nearby.

Upstairs, the king sized room, with original feature fireplace, is perfect for a romantic break, honeymoon or ideal for a family. The comfortable double bedroom or equally comfortable single bedroom, enjoy views of the rolling Cleveland Hills and picturesque landscape around it.

Bathroom has bath with shower, heated towel rail and fluffy towels.

All heating, linen, duvets and towels supplied.

Swainby village is a walkers and cyclers paradise with direct access to the North Yorkshire Moors with the Cleveland Way footpath just above the village within nearby hills. The National Cycle Route 65 also goes straight through the village. The Moors Bus provides a green alternative to taking your car to explore the delights of the North Yorkshire Moors.

We also supply a welcome pack including tea, coffee, bacon, fresh farm eggs, milk, bread, jam and biscuits, flowers and wine.

Directions
A19 North bound:
Turn off for A172 (Stokesley), follow road past Ingleby Arncliffe and Ingleby Cross turnoffs. At Swainby Cross roads turn left into Gold Hill Loop Road / Goldgate Lane. Follow road for about half a mile, over humpback railway bridge to the white house at the top of the hill. Here you will find Lyke Wake Cottage.

A19 South Bound:
Turn off towards Stokesley at the Tontine, follow the road to the T junction where you will meet the A172. Turn right towards Stokesley & Swainby. Follow road past Ingleby Arncliffe and Ingleby Cross turnoffs. At Swainby Cross roads turn left into Gold Hill Loop Road / Goldgate Lane. Follow road for about half a mile, over humpback railway bridge to the white house at the top of the hill. Here you will find Lyke Wake Cottage.
