Ty Derw cottage is a delightful 'meadow cottage' located on the outskirts of the village of Ciliau Aeron, 3 miles from the picturesque seaside town of Aberaeron, and is a great base for exploring the stunning Ceredigion countryside, and the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay.
The area surrounding Tyglyn Vale, is quiet and relatively traffic free, and so is perfect for walking and cycling, and the nearby town of Aberaeron offers a number of excellent restaurants, good pubs, and interesting shops selling local produce.
The cottage is located on a small private development of similar properties,in the lovely Aeron Valley, and is well equipped. The large open-plan reception includes a lounge area with satellite TV/DVD and seating for five, a dining area, and a conservatory, which is a perfect place to relax and watch the world go by.
The kitchen has electric cooker/hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, toaster, kettle, and microwave.
The cottage has two bedrooms - one double and one twin, with good storage space.
The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC, and basin.
There is hardwood flooring in much of the property, and electric central heating throughout.
The decked area to the front of the property is a perfect place to relax and watch the Red Kites soar overhead and the large expanse of lawn, which surrounds the cottage is a great place for a picnic, and to take in the beautiful Ceredigion landscape. This is also a safe place for children to play without worrying about the dangers of traffic. There is dedicated parking for two cars at the property.
Property is rural so a car is advised.
The Tyglyn Hotel (bar and restaurant) is 100 metres from the property. The hotel can be accessed via a footpath from the Tyglyn site, and cottage guests are made welcome.
Less than 10 minutes walk away is the secret garden of Tyglyn Aeron, where you will find a small play area for smaller children and is an interesting place to explore.
The county of Ceredigion is largely undiscovered, and therefore is a great place for those who like to avoid the crowds. To the East is the county of Powys, which includes the Brecon Beacons National Park, Whilst to the South is Pembrokeshire, with the theme park of Oakwood within easy reach.
The coastal area of Cardigan Bay is fantastic for those who enjoy water based leisure activities, such as sailing or angling and regular boat trips depart from Aberaeron and New Quay on 'dolphin spotting' trips.
There are many beautiful beaches dotted along the coast, such as Mwnt and Cymtydu, and some of picturesque towns and villages, like Aberporth and Llangranog, are well worth a visit.
