Eating out at the renowned Carrick House Hotel only 20 minutes away or just further north in the Loch Fyne oyster bar. Or why not just take a relaxing day out and just make the short drive up to the town of Inveraray and spend the day amongst the little shops and market stalls and you can even go and see Scotland's oldest jail in the heart of the town.
Even further North lies the old fishing town of Oban and is now home to one of Scotland's busiest ferry terminals which is the gateway to the inner and outer Hebrides including the mystical island of Iona.

Directions
If travelling from the South:
Your main target is to head towards the Erskine bridge situated to the west of Glasgow International Airport along the M8
Cross North over the bridge and take the left hand lane for A82 and will be signposted Crainlarich / Cambeltown and stay on this road, you are approximately 40 minutes from Arrochar from here.
Once over the bridge you will be skirting past Dumbarton and Alexandria and then will come to the Balloch Roundabout which is around 15 minutes from the Erskine Bridge.
Stay on the A82, again this should be signposted Crainlarich / Cambeltown.
You will now be driving along the side of Loch Lomond which is now on your right hand side.
Keep going and you will be passing small villages called Luss and Inverbeg and then you will come to Tarbet.At Tarbet you need to go straight on which will be the A83 and signposted Oban, the road then bends to the left and you will be in Arrochar in 5 minutes. ( Beware of police hand held cameras on this road )
Drive straight through the village staying on the A83 and your destination is now Ardgarten. You will find yourself coming round the top of Loch Long. and Arrocher will soon be across the Loch on your left hand side.
Stay on this road for approx 3 miles and you will see a sign Ardgarten Caravan site. Keep going passed this for another mile until you see another sign Ardgarten pointing to the left, turn in here.
