Set in the garden of The Old School House, built in 1872, the Lodge started life originally (and don't let this put you off!) as the boys' and girls' loos. It then took on the role of log and garden store before being converted in 1993 to its present, more comfortable state.
We are situated in the heart of the small North Yorkshire village of Great Smeaton, within walking distance of the village pub, and close to the market towns of Northallerton, Richmond, Thirsk and Bedale.
We're also within easy reach of the historic cities of Durham and York, the North Yorks Railway, both Heartbeat and Herriot Country and ideally placed to explore both the Moors and The Dales.
We provide:
Small but perfectly formed! comfortable double room
accommodation with en-suite shower
Ideal short break for a couple, the singleton or the business traveller.
Coast to coast pick up service.
